FRANCOIS VAN ECK

Francois brings over three decades of experience in civil engineering,
infrastructure planning and design, as well as contract and project management.
He joined LYNERS in 2014 and became a shareholder in 2025.

Francois obtained his BEng (Civil) degree and BEng (Technology Management) Honours degree at the University of Pretoria in 1994 and 1997, respectively. His areas of expertise include civil engineering, infrastructure planning and design, and contract and project management. He spent 10 years as a design engineer in the USA, where he was also registered as a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).

  • Professional Engineer (Pr Eng), Engineering Council of South Africa, 2006 
  • Professional Engineer, National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in the USA, 2004

Membership: 

  • Professional Member: Institute of Municipal Engineering of Southern Africa (IMESA), 2009
  • Associate Member: South African Institute of Civil Engineering (SAICE), 2005

Some of Francois’ interesting flagship projects included the complete site design for a new FedEx Ground
distribution hub in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and a new boat docking terminal and public park along the
Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.
