Gerhardt has 17 years of full-time structural consulting engineering experience and joined LYNERS in February 2026.
He holds a BEng (Civil) degree from Stellenbosch University (2009).

Gerhardt specializes in reinforced concrete and structural steel design, focused on the design of high-rise
buildings. He has extensive experience with the design of high-rise residential and commercial office buildings, shopping centres and structural steel warehouses.
Gerhardt specializes in the finite element (FEM) design method of concrete structures, seismic stability analysis and detailing, post-tensioned concrete structures and structural steel and prides himself on the design of economic, efficient and practical structures.
Raised in a household with a hereditary line of civil engineers provided him with a thorough background in
engineering. His exposure to the use of computers and computer literacy from a young age gives him a major
advantage in his work. He is an expert in the following software packages: Microsoft Windows, Autodesk
AutoCAD, Revit, Prokon suite, Tekla Structural Designer and the Microsoft Office suite.
