NEIL LYNERS

Neil obtained his BSc (Eng) (Civil) from the University of Cape Town in 1985. After a brief stint in the construction industry with Clifford Harris, he joined Aurecon as a Design and Resident Engineer in April 1988 and became an Associate in 1995. Neil registered as a Professional Engineer in 1992. He co-founded Lyners Adams in May 1997 and established Neil Lyners and Associates in March 1999.

Main fields of specialisation:  

  • General municipal infrastructure engineering, including investigations, feasibility studies, planning, design, documentation, contract administration and project management
  • Practice management and administration 
  • Procurement legislation 
  • Procedures and documentation 

Credentials and memberships: 

  • 2002 to 2004: Western Cape Branch Chairman and Councillor of Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA)
  • May 2004: Elected Fellow of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering
  • 2005 to 2013: Councillor with Boland College
  • 2014 to 2017: Reviewer of the Engineering Council of South Africa
  • Since January 2015: Member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Stellenbosch University
