THEO POTGIETER

Theo established the Electrical Engineering Department at the LYNERS Head Office in Bellville. He joined LYNERS in 2013 and became a shareholder in 2017. 

Theo obtained his BEng (Electrical) and MEng (Electrical) degrees from Stellenbosch University in 1989 and 1992, respectively. He started his career as a Junior Engineer at Eskom in 1993, before joining Kwezi V3 Engineers (later known as Worley Parsons RSA) in 2006 as an Associate and was appointed as Technical Director in 2003.

Theo has extensive experience designing and supervising electrical engineering infrastructure for new residential erven, low-cost/informal housing developments, and commercial/industrial developments.  

His expertise includes contractual management of projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams. He has
in-depth knowledge of electrical tariff studies; high-, medium- and low-voltage master planning; high low- and
medium-voltage network upgrades; and developing GIS databases, bulk contribution policies and load control
systems. He also has vast experience with RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and RFIs (Request for Information)
for renewable and alternative energy from IPPs (Independent Power Producers) and assisting with PPAs
(Power Purchase Agreements).
